steveberes Stephen Beres, Technology Architect, HBO
Stephen Beres currently serves as Technology Architect  for HBO in the Studio and Broadcast Operations division.  As a member of the HBO Studios West team Steve is actively researching and testing new acquisition formates and helping HBO original programing to bridge the digital gap.

Perviously, Steve worked with FotoKem Inc. as Director  of Engineering for nextLAB. NextLAB is a division dedicated  to pioneering file based workflows and empowering filmmakers  with the tools they need to produce exceptional work in the digital cinema age. Steve's lab helped to integrate new technologies and processes into the vast array of  services already offered by FotoKem and it's subsidiaries Burbank's Keep Me Posted and San Francisco's Spy Post.

Before that, Steve served as Chef Technical Officer for PlasterCITY Digital Post (PCDP) of Hollywood, California. PCDP was an acknowledged leader and innovator in post-production processes for feature films, commercials, music videos, and non-fiction programming.
ChrisDuffy Chris Duffy, Quantum
Chris Duffy manages worldwide marketing strategy for Quantum's StorNext data management solution, responsible for driving worldwide business growth, market research, and sales enablement. Chris has over 11 years of experience in data storage technologies, including technical roles at EMC Corporation on its flagship product, Symmetrix. Following that, Chris joined startup COPAN Systems to lead the development and introduction of revolutionary archive storage technologies to address unstructured-data growth management challenges. Prior to joining Quantum, Chris developed Go-To-Market strategies for Dell Corporations' Enterprise Storage Solutions Group. Chris holds a MBA from Babson College in Massachusetts.

Jess Hartmann, CEO, Promax

With over 29 years of experience in providing technology leadership to a broad base of industries, Jess Hartmann has held positions from CEO, Vice President of Marketing, CIO and CFO in Fortune 500 public companies and entrepreneurial startups, including New Horizons Computer Learn Centers, ThermoLase Corporation, Division of Thermo Electron; Jenny Craig International; and Prime Computer.

 

As CEO of ProMAX Systems, Mr. Hartmann guides this industry leading company which has been providing Media Technology Solutions to the film and broadcast industry since 1994.  Pioneering in Video Editing and Storage Solutions for post production, ProMAX has served over 35,000 customers with video technology solutions and unparalleled services.

GinaJames Gina James, NBC Universal
Gina James is Director of .media Content Management at NBC Universal. For the past eight years, Gina has played key project roles primarily involving NBCU’s physical & digital media order fulfillment and inventory management systems. Gina was instrumental in developing NBCU’s strategy for digital archival assets and fulfillment. She currently leads the implementation and operational changes at NBCU to migrate its vaulted assets to file based media. Prior to NBC Universal, Gina managed projects for an ecommunity and social networking company primarily servicing the entertainment industry. Gina also worked at 20th Century Fox for renowned action film director John Woo on the production of Broken Arrow and Face/Off.

Gina has been with NBCU since 2001. She holds her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of California Santa Barbara and spent a year studying Japanese at Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan. She lives in Los Angeles with her two sons.
CharlieMiller

Charlie Miller, Control Group

Charlie Miller has over ten years of experience providing technology strategy, integration, support, and training to companies in the media and entertainment space. He has worked with a wide variety of creative visual workflows, helping clients integrate new technologies and overcome technical obstacles.

Charlie is currently a senior consultant in the Strategic Services group at Control Group, a technology services firm based in New York. He has led technology integration projects at The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, The Colbert Report, World Wrestling Entertainment, and WNET/Thirteen, and architected video workflows for both broadcast and online distribution models.

Charlie is an Apple Certified Trainer and an Adobe Certified Instructor. He has written extensively for O'Reilly Media, and served as technical editor for several titles from Apple and Peachpit Publishing.
