Where’s the DAM Road Map?
Written by Jeremiah Karpowicz
Free download offers way to measure “Are you there yet?”
The Digital Asset Management Road Map, designed to help people pick out key criteria for successful implementation of digital asset management (DAM) systems, is available for download. It gives users helpful hints and lets them know how to approach DAM solutions in a sensible manner.
The DAM Road Map also establishes a familiarity with terms and issues that are involved with any DAM solution such as metadata, user interface, security, workflow and collaboration in order to help the return on investment. Createasphere commissioned the DAM Road Map in an effort to provide online education globally.
“The Road Map helps you understand how to deploy a Digital Asset Management system,” says Mary Yurkovic, Createasphere’s Digital Asset Management Conference and Community Manager and co-author of the DAM Road Map. “It’s not plug and play technology. It lets you know what you should be aware of and how you can be successful with it.”
In a digital work environment filled with metadata, social media, workflow issues, security concerns and collaboration across entire teams and departments whether in the same office or across the globe, implementing a successful DAM strategy is not a simple or easy task. Many people are faced with a seemingly insurmountable task that forces them to figure out how to combine people, process and technology. In order to help those starting out with this process Createasphere teamed Mary Yurkovic with Nigel Cliffe of UK-based Cliffe & Associates to develop the DAM Road Map.
“The DAM Road map is a light-hearted summary of the key issues surrounding DAM – a checklist if you like of issues to be aware of and lookout for,” says Nigel Cliffe, CEO at Print Media Centr; Cliffe Associates Ltd; Cliffehanger Ltd; Founder of DAM Blog and co-author of the DAM Road Map. “I certainly see the need for an increased awareness of the importance of the change in management issues associated with DAM as being of ever increased importance in the deployment and development of a DAM solution.”
The DAM Road Map combines advice from a practical perspective while also including invaluable insights from people who have been working with DAM solutions for years. It helps users figure out how to approach DAM issues they are sure to encounter while also showing them how they can establish goals for their DAM solution.
You can download the Digital Asset Management Road Map for free at www.damroadmap.com/
Learn more about the topics in the DAM Road Map at Createasphere’s upcoming Digital Asset Management Conference in The Hague, Netherlands.
