spnsSonySony to present three hot Intensives at the Entertainment Technology Expo.

Createasphere’s Entertainment Technology Expo is only two weeks away, and the schedule just keeps growing. Among the latest announcements is a set of three Intensive Presentations by Sony. Each Intensive is one hour, and will take place on the show floor in Sony’s booth (#302). Each Intensive will be presented multiple times across both days of the Expo.

3D State of the Business

Robert Willox, Director of 3D Business Development for Sony Electronics Inc., will give an overview of the stereoscopic 3D landscape and offer an insiders’ view of several new developments in affordable 3D production. Many new and significant 3D tools from Sony are being introduced for Live, Motion Picture, Education and Documentary producers. Two new Sony 3D camcorders promise to drastically change the cost structure and complexity of stereoscopic production, whether for documentary or multi-camera live 3D production. Robert will also provide updates on the developments in Switching, Processing, 2D to 3D conversion, Monitoring and Non Linear editing fronts.

New PMWF3 options, SLOG, and 444

Peter Crithary, Marketing Manager of XDCAM EX™ Products for Sony Electronics Inc., will present the latest optional accessories as well as optional software keys that will add even more value and flexibility to PMWF3 owners and anyone considering this camera. Included in this presentation are the new 14x high power zoom lens and wide angle PL mount zoom lens specifically designed to widen the applications for the PMWF3. As well as an exciting 3D Link software key for those intending to use the PMWF3 for stereoscopic 3D applications. Also covered are the powerful SLOG and RGB444 output software key (available since June) that upgrade this camera to another level. These powerful options continue to increase the ROI on the PMWF3 and will soon be available from Sony.

NXCAM Super 35mm and its Breadth of Accessories

Cinematographer David Leitner and Sony NXCAM/HDV Senior Product Manager Juan Martinez will present the features and benefits of the NEX-FS100U, Sony’s NXCAM® Super35 camcorder, including the similarities and differences compared to Sony’s PMW-F3 camcorder. While the NEX-FS100U and PMWF3 share the same Sony Exmor™ Super35 CMOS sensor, the NEX-FS100U’s new E-Mount offers the smallest flange focal distance of any Super35 camera--a mere 18mm--inviting an unprecedented choice of lenses for a wide range of production applications. Leitner will also unveil his sample reel shot on the NEX-FS100U using an assortment of Nikon™, Zeiss®, and Sony lenses that demonstrate the NEX-FS100U's high sensitivity coupled with low-noise and remarkable image fidelity.

Seats are first-come, first-served at each of these Intensives, but only for registered attendees of the Entertainment Technology Expo. To register, and to see the schedule of Sony Intensives and full Expo program, visit www.createasphere.com/ete.
